Winter Storm Jonas

Well, we thought after a 70 degree Christmas we were going to skip Winter this year... boy were we wrong.. 40 inches of snow later - I'm pretty sure we have enough snow to last us the rest of the season. This isn't the end of this type of weather, February is our coldest month and we're suppose to be getting hit again by another snow storm, possibly.. is it spring yet? I love the snow but that was a bit over board for me.. the girls couldn't even play in it until JD shoveled a spot for them to be able to move around in.. craziness. That Friday is when it was heading this way, and of course last minute I decided I needed to make a Starbucks run.. nope, that didn't happen. I didn't even make it to the door & JD said "here it comes, you're not driving.. get the girls ready" and out we went. He is brave.. I do not drive in that kind of weather, he loves driving in the snow.. until it turns to a Blizzard, that's a different story.. or if you can't get your car out of the driveway from so much snow.. which is exactly what happened. Our trip to Starbucks was short lived, we made it all the way there before it got bad just to find out they closed early due to the storm coming.. womp.. just my luck, so we headed home which only felt like hours when it was only a 15 minute drive.. the snow began to stick fast which meant other drivers were in panic mode.. we passed a jeep already off the side of the interstate. Once we made it home, we were in for good for at least the next 4 days.. or at least me and the girls were stuck for 4.. he had no choice but to get himself out of this driveway come Sunday because he had already called off Friday and Saturday.. being snowed in calls for crock pot soup, late night movies for Mommy & Daddy, & some snow ice cream for all 4 of us.. We got between 1 & 3 inches of snow an hour from what the meteorologist had to say, & I'm pretty sure for at least 3 days straight the Weather Channel was all that was watched on our TV.. JD is a bit obsessed with the weather & snow.. He should have been a Meteorologist.. for sure. We brought both dogs in, Sarge has always been an inside/outside dog so he was ok in the house.. however, Buster was a different story and that became quite the nightmare after day 3.. we kept him in his cage in the garage and just let him in and out on a leash.. he's way too hyper to come in and has always been strictly an outside dog, so he was ready to go back out on day 4.. not to mention, his dog house was built by my grandfather, it even has a window in it.. talk about some spoiled dogs. He's got it made.. Thankfully, the snow is suppose to melt this weekend, although we will be getting hit again in the next month.. I'm so ready for tank-tops, shorts, & flip flops.

& it begins.. They were ready for it as soon as it started.

First 2016 snow picture

Night 1.

Crock pot loaded potato soup for dinner

Day 2.
Total white out.

JD shoveled a path for the girls.. must have been cool to have snow on the ground taller than you..

It was a great idea to make my way out to the middle of the yard for a picture, until I fell down trying to get back out & a ton of snow went down my pants.. nope, no thanks.

If we didn't bring Buster in, he would have been snowed in his own house.. lol

Best thing about being snowed in, it was with my best friend.

Night 2.

Trying to plow his own way out for work the next night.. He did not succeed..

Meanwhile, the girls & I made snow cream.. Kylee's exact words were "ew" until I promised her it was good snow, & not yucky snow..

Story time.

Day 3.
My grandfather aka Paw Paw saved the day when he came to plow us out..

The girls enjoyed yelling "Paw Paw" from the window as he plowed the drive way.

Thankfully, JD was able to get to work on Sunday which meant it was just the girls and I snowed in for the rest of the night until the next evening when he was off work again, & we were able to escape... I was beginning to get cabin fever, and although we were still under a state of emergency.. I trusted his word on the roads & his driving.. I needed out of this house so we went to Target for a few things and of course that's where Starbucks is.

Day 4.
the day we ventured out and about.. this was our road.

Target, Starbucks, & Pizza Oven.. all I saw it as was FREEDOM.

Kaylee: "Mommy, take a pitchhhaa"
sure thing, girlfriend!

So, later that evening.. this happened. 40 inches of snow on the ground + 30 degrees, but the wind stopped blowing & it didn't even feel the slightest bit cold.. I took advantage of it when I had to run to the car for something.
 T-shirt, shorts, & boots..
New Trend? Possibly.

Very dangerous, but very pretty.. in my opinion, anyway.

Later that night, our best friends - Baylee & Tyler escaped the storm by coming over for a while.. & the girls were so excited to see them.

It was a great snowed in weekend... too bad it had to end.
Here's to another weekend, but without a blizzard.
Happy Saturday!

Part 30 in the life of Kylee & Kaylee

Here we are again, thirty months.. don't judge. 30 months is a lot to take in, they grow too fast.. but life is good & the toddler life has never been more fun. These girls are growing super fast and it isn't slowing down, they will be turning three before we know it which I've already started planning, again - don't judge - I'm a girl mom, it's what I do when I have so many options to choose from thanks to Pinterest, I have all my plans for their party in my hidden folder on that app. ;)

- K Y L E E -
She had a big milestone this month starting out 2016, she no longer wears pull ups to bed at all, & wakes up any time she has to go pee, never having any accidents at all, she loves to count, still loves Mickey Mouse, loves Bubble Guppies & Paw Patrol, loves to have her picture taken, loves to play dress up, loves shoes especially boots this winter,
loves to sleep but also loves to be up early for breakfast & cartoons, loves to be the momma hen not only to her sisters but to us as well.. she is always concerned with our well being.. "you ok, mommy?" "you huwt you self?" "let me kiss it".. she loves to be part of the adults.. If you're having a conversation, her little ears are right in on it just sitting and taking it all in (she gets that honestly from her momma & a few family members on both sides), loves being with mommy & daddy over anyone else, it takes her a while to warm up to people when going places, loves to be the boss, literally loves it.. we have to make her tone it down a bit because she has a little sassy mouth on her, & doesn't miss a thing. If Kylee is around, you can forget about getting away with anything. The sass shows in the pictures but doesn't do her justice.. Everything is "mine", everything her sister touches, she thinks she has to take it and bring to mommy & daddy, she is drama & there is no other word to describe her although she really is such a sweet child.
Favorite foods & drinks; hot dogs, chicken nuggets, all fruit, cereal bars, cereal - her favorite being fruit loops or anything chocolate, pop-tarts, all snacks, loves water, orange juice, & milk.. any meal I make for dinner, she will eat. She is not our picky child.

- K A Y L E E -
loves to dance, loves to watch TV, loves, loves, loves Paw Patrol, hates to sleep because she'd rather be up watching cartoons, loves to cuddle with mommy but if daddy is home at night that's all she wrote for momma.. Daddy is everything to her. She gets excited when we tell her what we're doing the next day, she will wake up asking us when we're going and tells us exactly what we told her the night before. She loves to go bye byes, she loves all animals except bugs and snakes, she will freak out if she sees a bug.. although she is the most girly tom boy you'll ever meet. She loves makeup, but loves to be outside, loves to work with her play tools because she loves to help daddy work on things, she loves all grandparents, she's a grandparents girl just like I was growing up.. & her absolute favorite thing is to ask "see ya pitchas?" & if someone asks what.. she usually says "on ya phone?" , just like her sister, she shows major concern if she knows you can get hurt.. if something is hot she says " don't touch it, it's realllly hot, you huwt you kingas"  aka fingers.. incase you just can't understand the toddler talk. She is so fun to be around but our strong willed child for sure.. you can repeat "NO" a million times, and she's still going to do it anyway. She tests our patience daily but we love them both to pieces.
Favorite foods & drinks: nothing.. haha kidding but it's really a short list for this little one.
Hot dogs (some days), only the honey bbq flavored chicken nuggets, cheese of all kinds, water, chocolate milk (meaning Carnation breakfast), gummies is probably her most favorite thing to eat, ever.. french fries, PIZZA.. the child asks for pizza any time of day.. literally. BUT, she is her mothers guts because I could eat any type of pizza all day, every day.

- Enjoy the 30 month photo dump -

Brantley - 3 Months

3 Months. 3 whole months of loving on you sweet boy. I never knew I could love any harder  than the first time I became a Momma, but I...
