[Christ}mas 2015

Christmas was fun, fun, fun with very warm weather but very fun with our two little toddlers this year. They are understanding everything around them, they understand Santa, they understand presents & they understand family. We started off Christmas Eve by going to my Mam Maw & Pap Pap's house to join the rest of our family for lunch.. the girls remember all of their names now & will ask about them on occasion since that day. They loved up on my cousins this time, & remembered Mam Maw's room full of toys, & of course they remembered their Pap Pap who gives them donuts & cookies when he sees them, their favorite! We spent a few hours enjoying family time with that side, ate delicious food, & opened presents. It was nice seeing Pap Pap finally get an upgraded TV after all of these years... Yes, I got a video of his excitement. ;)

After we left Mam Maw & Pap Pap's house, we headed home so I could make our favorite Buffalo Chicken Dip.. seriously the best - & then headed over to my Uncle Craig & Aunt Shelley's for our usual Heironimus family get together that night where we also ate, enjoyed family time, opened presents and even had a visit from Santa Clause who brought his bag full of goodies for the kids. After all of that fun, we played the most popular game on the shelf right now  - Pie Face -
& it was hilarious. We finally headed home around 9:30-10:00 pm so we could bake cookies for Santa & wait for him to arrive.

Christmas Morning - Santa has arrived.. & left footprints aka "Paw Prints" according to the girls..

Christmas morning after opening all of our presents from Santa, we headed to my Aunt Betty & Uncle Jimmy's house to open some presents from them. Afterwards, we went to the girls MiMi & Paw Paw's house for some yummy home made breakfast & more presents. The girls knew every time we went to a new place they were either eating or getting presents.. so they just patiently waited at each house for the same thing as the last house.

Finally, after Mimi & Paw Paw's we only had one mores stop which was just to visit Aunt Cindy & Uncle Steve's house before we all headed over for the Hayslette family Christmas dinner for our final stop of the day. We ate (again), we laughed, we opened presents, & we cried because Christmas was different this year without the girls Great Maw Maw.. We all received an amazing gift that we will all hold close to us forever. Christmas was her favorite just like it was my Grandmothers favorite as well. I am forever grateful for having 8 years of getting to know you.
We will love & miss you forever.

After a long day of running around we finally got to go home and let the girls enjoy their toys while we called their SC Nana (JD's mother) to wish her a Merry Christmas & let the girls talk to her about Santa & presents, of course. Afterwards, we got in our PJ's and let their Nana here come over so we could exchange gifts. Once again, more tears (from her) as she opened up her picture frame with a cute little saying about becoming a Nana. It was a great Christmas and we are very blessed.

Regardless of how many presents you receive this time of year, never forget the true meaning & reason for the season as well as enjoying the time we do have with family while they are still here.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, also have a
Happy New Year!

Part 29 in the life of Kylee and Kaylee

This month has been fun, fun, fun.. super busy & some days stressful but beyond fun. We spent time with tons of family on Thanksgiving, we took them on their first Black Friday shopping spree, they could finally understand the Christmas parade this year in South Berkeley, they made a new friend over at their Aunt Baylee's new house (Tyler's niece).. They went to their first Winter Wonderland in Clear brook to see the Christmas lights and Santa, they have figured out how to count up to 10 without help, they have learned how to say their ABC's with help, they have figured out how to do duck lips, we tried Starbucks for the first time, they now know who Santa is *he is talked about from day light to dark* we have learned so, so much just within this month... the girls now sometimes call each other "Kylee Morgan" & "Kaylee Madison" so middle names have been taught this month as well although sometimes they get each others middle names mixed up. We're currently working on colors, most things are pink or blue to them.. obviously those are favorites between the two. Their favorite thing is coloring, playing with play-dough, playing hide & seek/chase for hours on end either just the two of you, or with mommy & daddy.. being good little mommies to their baby dolls while also putting them in time-out.. & TALKING... talking is what we do non-stop & I mean it.. Sentence after sentence comes out of these two little mouths and we l o v e it. They teach us every day how they have learned something new without us even teaching them how to say or do something...
"mom, what the heck is you doin'?"
"mom, santa clause is comin tonight"
"hey baby"
"it's time to go night night"
"I hasssss to go peeee"
"um, guys"
"no wayyyy, mom"
"where is my sissy Kylee"
"where is my sissy Kaylee"
"HEY, it's ME Kaylee"
"you're so silly"
"you're goofy"
"no ma'am"
(at bedtime) "mom I need a pull-up"
(Kaylee's favorite) "I need to woook in da mirror"
(her other favorite) "wait on a second"
"Santa not bringing you toys" (when the other is acting up)
"get off of me now right" (when being held or tickled)
(Kaylee still doesn't understand you say "right now" instead lol)
& the latest thing from Kaylee has been "I wipe you kiss away"

Those are just a few of the main things they love to say, they will have full blown conversations with us now unless they don't know you & it's the most fun about this stage. I love hearing their little voices & hearing them voice their opinions is the funniest thing yet.

Eating is still just BLAH.. Kylee is an okay eater.. as in WAY better than her sister but still sorta picky when she sees her sister giving us a fit.. Kaylee will not eat it unless it's Mac & Cheese, Hot dogs (with ketchup), French Fries, or Chocolate cereal... they are still just snacking through out the day instead of eating full blown meals. As long as they take a few bites, we're okay.

Sleeping has not changed...
We are still working on a schedule with JD's night shift schedule, it's hard for me to get myself on a decent schedule so getting the girls on one is even harder. Kylee will go to sleep for me anywhere between 8-9 and usually sleeps until 9-10 am the next morning as to where Kaylee is who gives me a fit and fights sleep at night. She tries to take naps at 7pm and be ready to go for the night by 10 pm. We are currently working on getting them on the same track as far as naps and bed time go. For right now she's just falling asleep in our bed and I've been moving her to hers praying she sleeps the entire night.

Thanksgiving and Christmas time has been SO fun with these two, this stage they're in has been my favorite because they are into new things now.. dress up, playing mommy to their baby dolls, coloring, really communicating very well with each other so it has made picking toys out SO fun for Christmas and it has made family time during the Holidays SO fun now that they can understand more of what people are saying and respond to it. Kylee has gotten out of her shy stage of not talking to anybody, now she will walk right in and be just fine, talking up a storm and telling on her sister for everything. It does not matter if she's being good or bad, you will know exactly what Kaylee is doing because Kylee will tell you every little detail/play by play of what is going on.
"sister being bad, she need time out"
"sister in da water" (dogs bowl or the front of the fridge)
"sister not listening mom"
"sister needs her butt smacked"

Kylee doesn't miss a single thing, I promise. If a kid is doing wrong, you'll know it.

They throw temper tantrums in the middle of Target that make me want to walk away from embarrassment, the attitudes are to the extreme right now, the fighting has been every day, & we have put them in time-out some days more than we can count on our fingers.. but as I type this right now they are chasing each other through the house, laughing one minute and crying the next but I'm raising little ladies & I have years to come of this which is why I'm thankful for their daddy willing to give me days like today where I can have some time to myself out and about without the tantrums, the fighting, and screaming bloody murder over who sits in the back of the cart and who sits in the front.
This is the real mom life and I'm loving every minute of it.

they loooove theit little cousin "baby Bryson"..
they were loving on our cousins Keyla's baby belly.. (she's due this month!! :D)
some late night black friday fun

Playing football with Pap-Pap & our uncles! She had so much fun, & I think she was the life of the party that day.. lol
Going through some black friday ads..
"we want this toy, and this, and this tooooo"

Merry Christmas, everyone!!
