It's been busy, as always.. nothing new. I'm only updating the blog about Christmas on January 16th - whoops.. anyway.. Christmas eve was spent with family, nothing new. We spent time with the Shelton side at my grandparents house.. eating, laughing, opening presents, playing a game, and the girls talked pap pap into taking them outside, of course. Kaylee is good for begging people to take her outside, even in the middle of Winter.
Later that night we let the girls throw out some reindeer food, lay out cookies for Santa, and get ready to settle down for bed before his arrival, of course.. because everyone knows Santa doesn't show up until you're in bed. duh.
For those who asked which app this was it's called Catch Santa, they do have some free ones however I chose to purchase the next one up because I loved the look of them.
Fast forward to 5 am, we as in JD and I were up and ready.. we woke the girls and they were excited to see if Santa made it with all the presents.
yep... he made it.
They were very pleased, and very thankful as they would tear into each present they were saying "thank you" since we do the whole Santa thing, we kept telling them to tell Santa thank you instead. but we appreciated them thanking us without even knowing. lol
We had two other places to go that morning, after we had JD's dad over for Christmas morning breakfast and exchanged gifts with him. That night they played and played until they were completely whooped and ready to crash.
December 26th - the day to shop til' ya drop over some really good deals at Target for next Christmas decorating.
Fast forward to December 31st, New Years Eve. We decided to stay in this year, nobody in our family was having a get together so we took advantage of it, I cooked yummy food, and we watched all of the singers on tv until it was time for the ball to drop at midnight.
texas trash dip + pepporoni rolls
the two who have made me a momma.
yea... it got a little crazy in the toddler world that night.
I swear she only had milk and water.
Fast forward -> January 16th, 2017 - tonight... they are snuggled up on the living room floor watching Inside Out talking together.. the beach, water park, and zoo is the big talk these last couple days... I can't blame them. I'm ready for Summer adventures now that Christmas is over.
Let's see what 2017 has in store for our little family.
