We had a great weekend, can we just go back OR push forward for the next weekend JD has off, please?! It was great while it lasted anyway! Friday we did our usual grocery shopping, which of course is always super fun with twins...sometimes. It can turn out very good or very bad, there is usually no in between. We can't make the trip without 100 trips to the potty, or without fighting over the front or the back of the cart BUT we're getting two grocery carts full of new food for the month (thank you
Aldi grocery for that) so it's a good day, right?
hashtag twin parent life. Groceries for days, y'all!
Saturday is when the
real fun started - The Pumpkin Patch over at
Old Mcdonald's farm. We started off with the typical twin question we usually get,
"are they twins?" yep, they sure are! We took them to see the animals first, the rooster they insisted on calling chickens but then they really did get to see some chickens too. They even tried to stick their fingers inside which I kept being THAT mom repeating myself at least 10 times "
girls, do not stick your fingers in there" of course the one tried to peck at Kaylee's fingers but she didn't think twice about trying to pet any of them so we avoided the enormous turkey they had. After the amusement was over with the roosters/chickens, they bolted towards the rabbits & leave it to our kids to try to let them out which they failed at, thankfully.
The sheep they insisted was a puppy.. That's the biggest puppy I've ever seen.
The pigs..my favorite!
Finally, on to the actual pumpkin patch but first we have to catch a ride on the tractor for a Hay Ride which turned out much better than I thought it would. I thought for sure those two would have a fit once it started moving but we didn't hear a sound once we started looking for the pumpkins! ... OH, the coolest part? We can see Aunt Brandy & Uncle Timmy's house when on the Hay rides so once we mentioned "look girls, there is Justin's house" They were saying "Justin" as if they could see him.
Help a sista out
Can you tell who just doesn't know when to pick her feet up?
Then, the short walk back which involved a ton of chasing dad and tripping over their own feet, this time Kaylee got tripped and knocked down by Kylee.
This picture turned out perfect because she turned around to say "come on mom, get dad!"
After we headed back to grab a wagon, we picked out our two pumpkins & called it a day by heading to Dicks Sporting Goods so JD could look at getting some things for the huntin season!
The aftermath of being tripped on the dirt road by her sister.
Not sure if she thought this hat was for her or her daddy but for now, she's wearing it!
Carving the pumpkins is daddy's job, trust me, you do not want me to carve a pumpkin. It literally will cave in or be crooked. I'll be the picture-taker, yep! The girls were very interested in seeing all of the gooey seeds come out of their pumpkins but Kaylee wanted no parts of it on her hands. She gets that from her father, for sure!
Cuddles with daddy before going to bed on Saturday night!
S U N D A Y!
A day of relaxation with my girls while their daddy goes back to work on over time for the night! We went outside for a bit but not without some cookies, of course! I let them chase each other around, go see the dogs, & then they were so fascinated with the leaves on the ground they started rolling around in them so that was the perfect opportunity to get some pictures in underneath our beautiful tree outside before all of the leaves fall off. JD left for work, and we finished the Cowboys game before putting in our Spongebob movie for the night. It was a great weekend, but did it really have to end so soon? Three days (going by JD's schedule) never seems like enough! :) At least Monday is over now!
such a big tree for such little babes.
Have a great rest of the week!
