Part 27 in the life of Kylee and Kaylee

We have officially hit those terrible twos  - attitudes, throwing fits, yelling, crying. It's worse now more than it ever has been but we're making it through. It lives up to its name that's for sure. Most days we spend more time correcting them than anything else but some days go so smooth I wonder "who are these kids? hahaha they really are good for the most part. I mean they did make a 4 1/2 hour trip with zero accidents, slept most the way, & didn't make a fuss until we hit the back roads. They have just hit that stage where they're changing week by week, month by month and some days are just better than others for those two. Although they do have days of constantly standing in time out for fighting, these two truly couldn't stand to be without the other for a second. "where sissy?" "where kylee?" "sissy gone" - that is what we hear when one can't find the other. The twin bond is the sweetest thing you could ever witness daily, the fights are the worst but making up is the sweetest... "sowwy sister" "luhh you sissy"

 Toddler talk:

They are talking SO much, just since the last update back in September they have started talking a ton! They are putting sentences together.. It's nothing for JD & I to be sitting in the living room and one of them come out and say "you watchin tv dad?" just as plain as can be. "what are you doin mom?" "you cold mom? here take a blanket" I cannot explain how much easier it is now to understand them when they talk although at times they speak some kind of weird toddler gibberish to one another and I'm like....uh what did you just say? For the most part, we can have little conversations with these two and it's the best thing yet! The other night Kaylee caught her daddy off guard by saying.. " I gon' beat ur butt" oh..where did that come from??
Kylee is the biggest tattle tale these days. She will come running while pointing her finger.. "Kaylee in the trash, she in the trash" when really she was fine, just throwing something away. They are super helpful these days and both understand what we ask of them...throwing things away, putting their plates/cups in the sink although you do have to watch because sometimes they get confused and we will find their plates in the trash can, lol!

Toddler Play:
Blocks, puzzles, and taking care of their baby dolls is what's big in this household right now. They love the Melissa & Doug puzzles, they make noise & a few of them have animals on them. The puzzles & books stay in the living room, every other toy had to stay in their bedroom as their play room because we are out of room for toys. Santa needs to take it easy this year lol but really! Bubble Guppies is all we hear, although we did have to cut back this month on the T.V. Kaylee wasn't even wanting to leave the house because she just gets so into the Television she won't even realize you're trying to talk to her. If I would let her, she would sit in front of the T.V all day long so we have play time during the day, T.V time in the mornings when we wake up while we eat, & then also in the evenings. They have learned most of their words, most of their counting all from Team Umizumi so we will not cut T.V out completely. It's very educational these days and plus we're not the type of parents who are against T.V.

Toddler Food:
Some days I wonder "are they even going to eat?" especially Kaylee. Most days she refuses to eat anything except drink her chocolate milk (Carnation Breakfast) & eat a strawberry pop-tart or some cereal (Smores Krave is her favorite).. She calls it chocolate milk cereal just because it has chocolate on the inside of them. The reason they (they meaning Kaylee usually) drink the Carnation Breakfast is because it is hard to even get a bite of food in them most days so it makes me feel better knowing they're getting the nutrition from it. Kylee still loves pizza, chicken nuggets, doesn't care for any type of bread or cheese (weird since she loves pizza), unless its Mac & Cheese. Honestly, it just depends on the day with her. Kaylee has grown to LOVE cereal this month, before she wasn't liking it too much but since we introduced Krave cereal to her, she wakes up asks to potty then asks for chocolate milk & cereal in my bed while she watches Mickey or Bubble Guppies. Another favorite for these two are pepperoni rolls, when I make them they constantly ask for some pepperoni to hold them over until they are done. For snacks they love pretzels, cereal, apples, bananas, grapes, blueberries.. At least I can get some fruit in them if anything. The doctor told us not to worry, they will eat when they get hungry so that's what we do if Kaylee fights us to eat anything.

The Potty
We are doing great although for two weeks Kaylee went through this phase of just telling me " I don't wike it" when asked to go to the potty but only when at home because like I said above she was too into the T.V to even want to take a potty break. Thanking the Lord that phase is done and over or at least I hope so.. We traveled all the way to Sutton with ZERO accidents and only stopping once to go potty. I was very impressed considering they are only two and that was our first road trip since being potty trained. They did amazing and got two baby dolls at Toys R Us from Nana for being so good. IF we have accidents at this point, especially Kylee, it's straight to time-out because they have been potty trained long enough now to know better especially when they are at home. They do so well with it being out and about, still we never wear pull-ups except for bed time and even then most days they wake up dry requesting the potty as soon as their feet hit the floor. Still, I don't know when I'm going to take the pull-ups away at night yet because you just never know when they are going to pee in their sleep. Having a potty trained two year old is the best thing, I'm tellin' ya! I can't remember the last time I changed a diaper, I may have forgotten how! Lol!

Toddler Sleep.

We are finally on the same page, kinda. After trying the night shift schedule that JD is on and it worked for only one child we decided to try to only keep them up til 11 and that's the max. they're allowed to stay up because if they stay up any later they want to sleep until 4 pm. Kaylee still does not sleep all night. She is afraid of the dark so even though her sister is in there with her, she will normally wake up fussing. Usually we wake up and she is in bed with us in the mornings because at some point she came in our room and crawled into bed with us. She doesn't even bother waking us, she just lays down and goes back to sleep in between us. If it's just me here with her, she usually falls asleep in my bed. Sometimes I will move her into her bed but usually I don't even bother because I know when I wake up she's going to be right beside my in my bed. Kylee on the other hand, she does sleep all night. She will fall asleep anywhere between 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm and doesn't wake up until 10:00am - 10:30 am when her sister does. It's been quite the opposite for me, at just 1 month they slept all night long without waking up to even eat until 7 am.. now Kaylee sleeps like a newborn normally would which is never. At least it has gotten much better and if I'm still sleepy when she does wake up in the middle of the night I just turn a movie on and she sits still until she falls back to sleep.

Dance party in the car every single time.
the night they found interest in the Kardashians...oops..sorry daddy.

Kaylee Madison, you continuously prove to us just how strong willed you are, always so independent, never needing mommy or daddy to help you with anything although we do love when you ask us for help. You're quite the hard head but even though it can be challenging we love that about you and sometimes encourage your sister to do things on her own also because we know she can do it. You are always trying to make us laugh, the best part is the fact that you know you're funny and you know you make everyone laugh so it's what you do daily. You always say and do the funniest things just to get us giggling at your silliness. You love cell phones for the pictures and videos, you will sit there scrolling through the pictures and videos on our phones and not one time do you ask for help. You know how to press play and if you don't like them, you just keep on scrolling. It's so cute to watch you be so independent! You're such a daddy's girl, but also always wanting mommy when you're sad or scared. We have the best of times when it's just us at two am up watching cartoons. You test our patience daily but to hear you say "I'm sowwy mommy" with that pouty lip is totally worth it. You're the sweetest little girl and you look after sissy because you're the more dominant twin although you are 2 minutes younger. You have always been the protector and always the one to pick on her first. We love you so much! Love, Mommy & Daddy!

Kylee Morgan, you are the fun, quiet, most talkative little girl but also can sometimes be very hard headed like your sister and you get that from both sides of our family, that's for sure. You are always wanting hugs, kisses, and cuddles from us..always telling us you love us & always ready to take slefies with mommy. You are truly such a good child, most of the time you really only get in trouble because of sissy. You follow in her footsteps, you will do anything she does or anything she tells you to do. That could be a good thing or a bad thing but for now it's super cute yet sometimes drives us crazy because we don't want you to follow everything she does and get in trouble too. You are the biggest helper, you'll do anything we ask of you.. Anything! You love making Mommy & Daddy smile, you will tell on sissy for any and every thing which I am so thankful for when she really is doing something she shouldn't be doing. You have become quite the mother hen around here.. Usually whichever one of us is correcting Kaylee on something she has done, you are right behind us pointing that finger repeating every thing we are saying to her and we always have to tell you to please go in the other room because you are not the Mommy of Kaylee. We love you and your cute little cheesy grin you are always showing off! Love, Mommy & Daddy!

Tomorrow is Monday and those are the days I thank God for being a stay at home mom.
Have a great week!
