Mother's Day started with us waking up later than expected.. 10:30 am to be exact.. which put us leaving the house at noon when the night before JD says to me "let's be out of the house before noon.." nope.. didn't happen - but does it ever? nope. We woke up, JD took flowers over to his grandmothers grave while I showered and got the girls ready which turned into mainly looking for a missing shoe of Kaylee's for at least 20 minutes. FINALLY, we found the shoe after I had decided we were skipping the sandles and wearing the sneakers.. It was hiding underneath the barbie car. meltdown = over. Right at noon, we were walking out the door to head to IHop for breakfast or brunch I suppose, at this point. It's a good thing we chose IHop.. which has my absolute favorite breakfast food ever, by the way! After "brunch", we headed over to Walmart for a few things. At this point, the morning was so hectic JD & the girls couldn't even give me my card yet because that's just how our life goes.. busy, busy, busy.. always on the go.. never having the time to do anything for even two seconds. We get home from IHOP & Walmart, & as we are getting out of the car.. Kaylee says to me "
Happy Mudder's Day" "
I got my name" .... Oh, you got your name? What? JD just acts confused although he knew she almost blew it by telling me she wrote her name in the card for me that I haven't received yet. We get inside and they come running with a card & money for me, as I'm opening it up.. Kaylee says to me again "
Happy Mudder's Day, Momma" my heart was in a puddle. How sweet are my girls?? Then we changed their clothes so we could take them outside to jump on the trampoline for a little bit & then play with their Minnie Bubbles before it got dark because after dark we were putting together their big girl beds. We decided that since they didn't have matching cribs because from the start we only got one that was white, then ended up getting a second one that happened to be brown after they were a year old.. We wanted them to finally have matching twin beds although we had cut the front of the cribs out last year and turned them into somewhat of toddler beds, we felt as if the extra space was needed & they'll be three in just a few short months.. July to be exact. Why not go ahead and make the transition into Twin beds? We finally found two beds we liked and agreed on at Walmart so we bought the mattresses there also.
As you can see, it was a busy, fun day with my favorite people. I wouldn't change our crazy hectic life for anything else in the world, & I can't wait to add another crazy baby to this busy family of ours. I hope everyone else had a great Mother's Day also, cherish these moments with your babies because they won't be this little for long.
This picture just shows the personality differences between the two.
Yes, we had to change clothes three times this day.
Once to put on good clothes to go to breakfast.
Once to get into play clothes.
Once to get into warmer play clothes.
We have two very happy little ladies.
& one very thankful Momma on this past Mother's Day weekend.
My hands are full, but you should see my heart.
