Finally, we arrived & loaded up with buckets of food! We wanted to be sure not to run out, until we got to one of the very first animals and that thing completely jerked the bucket right out of JD's hand LOL talk about tears, the whole trip was hilarious & you would have though I was so upset by the tears I had in my eyes from laughing so hard. Then we got to the Bison, who literally blocked the road and not one car could go anywhere until they decided they were going to move. Those things are enormous, never in my life have I encountered an animal so huge & when we decided to ignore the signs of "stay inside your vehicle" to switch up the driving...just as I was getting into the driver side 1 of those Bison decided to stick his big head inside of my window (talk about panic attack) plus we weren't even suppose to feed those things, so my question is WHY & was I to trust this big thing in my window but just as I was trying to move away from it, a second bison decided to join in but on the passenger side so here I was stuck in the front with these two big heads drooling inside of my vehicle. Never in my life have I been so scared yet so amused all at once nor did I think I would be OK with getting drooled on by an animal this big and nasty.
As for the kids, well we took two 2 year olds, so with that being said it was a very fun but somewhat stressful day by the time it hit evening. They were just so tired, & us being twin parents you would think we would have brought the stroller for the part you walk around to see more animals but...we are human & we forgot. Needless to say we were kicking ourselves in the butt for not bringing it, because they were hot, tired, & grumpy. Not to mention, they're at the -I'm the boss, gonna do as I please and if you don't like it you're going to just have to chase me down & stop me- stage..literally. They loved the animals as much as we did & I cannot wait to take them back. Their reactions will be just like the first time all over again... absolutely hilarious.
Enjoy the Virginia Safari Photo Dump Below.
the stare down was real y'all
It was an amazing experience & I can't wait til next year, but there are two things to think about before visiting. Bring wet wipes for drool inside your car/on you, & If you are the type of person who treats your car like it's your baby, I would say this isn't for you because our car needed a good vacuuming/cleaning after this trip from all of the left over food from the animals, it was pretty much a giant food bowl inside of our car plus the animals like to bang, peck, etc.
Have fun!
xoxo Brooke
